Caldrion LLC, trading as Optimal Case ("we"), runs this site and The Property Journey. This policy says what we collect, why, and what you can ask of us. Contact: hello@optimalcase.com.

What we collect

• Your account. If you create one: your email address, an optional name, what you're mainly here for, and your password, which we store only as a salted one-way hash. Signing in sets a session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
• What you log. The rentals you add to your tracker (addresses, costs, dates and your notes) and your priority settings. Only you can see them. You can download them as a file or delete them at any time.
• What you send us. Your email address and anything else you put in a form (name, company, message), and whether you agreed to receive updates.
• Usage, without cookies. When a page loads, our server records the page, the referring site, campaign tags in the link, your country and device type. Visitors are counted with a one-way code that changes every day and can't be traced back to you. We set no cookies and use no browser storage for analytics. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we record nothing and load no analytics script.
• One preference cookie. If you switch between the day and evening themes, we store your choice in a cookie named theme for a year, so pages open in the theme you chose. It holds only "light" or "dark".
• Your location, roughly. To set currency, units and markets, we read the country, city and time zone our hosting provider attaches to each request. We don't store them.

Why, and who else handles it

• To answer you and, if you agreed, to send updates. Your details are kept in our database and our customer-relationship system, both hosted on Cloudflare.
• To understand which pages and campaigns work. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics and PostHog (both cookieless here) and Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out spam.
• We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of your details, to correct them, or to delete them, and unsubscribe from updates at any time, by writing to hello@optimalcase.com. Your account and everything you've logged stay until you delete them: Account, then Delete your account, removes them straight away. Expired sign-in sessions are deleted daily. We delete enquiries from this site's database two years after they arrive, and anonymous usage records after 25 months. Our customer-relationship system keeps your details while we're in touch; ask us and we'll delete them there too.
